10 Things I Hate About You
Shakespeare and 90s teen angst – what not to love? 10 Things I Hate About You is one of the best teen-movie-based-on-classic book type options (see also: You have nothing). Julia Stiles and Heath Ledger star as Kate and Patrick, high school versions of spam lovers in Shakespeare & # 39; s Shrew creation, with Larisa Oleynik (Alex Mack) of Aka Nickelodeon meets Kat's little Bianca, as well as Joseph Gordon-Levitt who has just graduated from Cameron's latest single. All three young actors did an excellent job of healing those outdated characters (I had been to Shakespeare's camp, don't leave me), but Ledger in particular looks fantastic in his role of success. —A Real Helper
The Dark Souls
I opened the Disney Plus app on my Apple TV for the first time, temporarily impressed with the excitement of the new streaming service. I didn't know where to start, so I decided to play the game: What is the most amazing film that could possibly be here? I am heading straight for the rising, searchable glass icon The Dark Souls, and there it was: a great, not necessarily good movie I genuinely enjoyed.
The Dark Souls it's three things: The kind of science fiction movie-in the studio that sponsors the first Star Wars movie, the long and beautiful kinked kick and screams out progress in hell, and – most of all – The story of a & # 39; 50s-style hauned house. No jokes: The Dark Souls it starts with a backdrop of a storm that forces our heroes to pull and knock on the door of an eye-catching science house.
Slow. It's a little sad. It's always fun. We are truly amazing. It's not great, but I love it. Under the big things they deserve love, too. You can do worse than sit back and let the movie wash over you for a few hours. And wait until you see the end. Jiminy.
And here's the bonus thing to do, too: Listen "All worms go to Heaven, ”A glorious episode of The Unfinished Podcast. That's all I want in a show that focuses on entertainment because it happens The Dark Souls more enjoyable. —Dave Tach
Black Panther
The first MCU movie features a black superhero, Ryan Coogler & # 39; s Black Panther and made history as the first superhero movie to receive the Best Photo Oscar nomination. (The prize eventually went away The Green Book which will, uh, not appear in any of this list.) After the death of his father, T & # 39; Challa (Chadwick Bosman) returns home to the neighboring Wakanda state of India to take up his role as king and protector, the great Black Panther.
Due to ongoing cooperation with Netflix, many Marvel movies were not available to stream on Disney Plus when the platform was launched last year. That company quickly expires Black Panther, left Netflix on March 3 and went to Disney Plus the next day. —HH
Freaky Friday
Both classic 1976 movie stars Barbara Harris and Jodie Foster, as well as a 2003 reboot with Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan, are broadcast on Disney Plus. With all due respect for Harris and Foster, but reminiscing is the way to go. No more than Jamie Lee's passing. She and Lohan have amazing chemistry as mother and daughter magically transform places, and her feeling of a poisonous young man trapped in her mother's body is just as delightful. —HH
High School Music
Original CDC music, High School Music changed the DCOM game, brought kids-made TV movies out of their young audiences and promoted the last two tracks and the newest Disney Plus meta release. The setup is simple: Shy new girl Gabriella and basketball captain Troy are skiing things at their school while they are exploring school music. In an age when minority groups dominate high school television, High School Music playing with all its tricks with campy excitement. —Petrana Radulovic
Places
Based on the Louis Sachar novel of the same name, Places he struggles with the complexities of the prison industry, race, homelessness, and poverty, but fulfills in a friendly way. Starring Shia LaBeouf, Places tells the story of unfaithful Stanley Yelnats who finds himself in a labor camp after being wrongly accused of a crime he did not commit. Children in the camp are forced to dig holes as the mysterious Warden spills over them. The movie jumps in between the timescales, rehearses the issue of Kiss Kate Barlow's illegitimate legacy and Stanley's ancestor Ilya, and brings them all together to come to a satisfying conclusion. It's a zany movie – one where the onions save the day – and it's pretty cool. —PR
It is perverted
Pstrong Movies is famous for making us cry and for their moments of unexpected poverty, but a friend who thinks Bing Bong & # 39; s arc in It is perverted probably the biggest jerker of the company right now. And it's very personal, as it happens almost inside Riley's 11-year-old head. As Riley evolves into a greater process thanks to her father's new work, her man-made emotions – Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fatigue, and Fear – clash as they try to influence Riley's memories. It's a friendly idea that works out how emotions work, and a universal message of acknowledging feelings instead of avoiding them. —HH
Lilo and Stitch
Stitch is great, so Stitch has been written about all the Disney commercials since the movie's release, but don't let that discourage you in the heart of Lilo and Stitch. The best part of the movie is not just the good alien – the fact that he gathers family together, while he is groaning in Hawaii. A Disney movie that makes a complex brotherhood better than Frozen and somehow halts the space scene through a family drama, Lilo and Stitch it's totally worth it to work again. (And the second sequel – Lilo and Stitch: Stitch has Glitch – and it's on Disney Plus and very strong). –PR
Mulan
The re-enactment of Mulan may have been delayed in the theaters, but why not return for the original? Two decades later, the film is still fascinating to see, a turning point in the legend of Kan Mulan, in which Mulan, a young woman (voiced by Ming-Na Wen), acts as a man and takes the place of her father in the Chinese Army. –EH
Muppet Treasure Island / Treasure Planet / Treasure Island (1950)
What can I say? I like pirates.
All three films are adaptations of the classic Robert Louis Stevenson adaptation – but two of them give it a slight twist. For a more accurate insight into Jim Hawkins, Long John Silver, and Captain Flint's wealth, check out the 1950s version. If steampunk, spacebound adventures are your favorite, you couldn't go wrong Treasure Planet
He is never refreshed
Drew Barrymore stars as the new geeky copy editor, Josie Geller, who returns to high school as a fake reporter in this epic rom-com. Josie was a dancer during her high school days, but with the help of her older brother Rob (David Arquette) she came in under the popular staff and even caught the eye of the school's hearts – along with her English teacher. Are sexual fantasies a problem? Certainly. But spectacular performances – including the supporting cast of John C. Reilly and Molly Shannon – do He is never refreshed simple console clock. —HH
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
Well, look, we find out that Captain Jack Sparrow has commanded the attention of the audience when Pirates of the Caribbean premieres, but the real treasure here is Elizabeth Swann. Jack's chaos is funny, but Elizabeth drives the hearts of the movies and at the end of the day, they act as one, a big, pirate-zombie, ruling the sea, approaching the arrival of a divine prince's daughter. The great trilogy, centered on Elizabeth and the dream of Will Turner, is more powerful than a spinoff focusing on Jack for this reason. And the first movie, which throws us into this strange world with its beautiful myths, is the most powerful. —PR
The Princess Diaries
Garry Marshall's adaptation of Meek Cabot YA's novel was an instant thanksgiving to the ever-beloved admirers of Julie Andrews as Mia Thermopolis & # 39; (Anne Hathaway) a recent grandmother who became queen of a small European country. Also, Mia's transformation from a young San Francisco teenager into a Genovia princess is one of the best movies ever made. —HH
Rocketeer
Before directing Captain America: First AvengerJoe Johnston gave the book a comic book about a fighter pilot when he found a jet prototype package that made him a Nazi army officer. Billy Campbell plays Cliff as an Indiana Jones native, while Timothy Dalton begins to have a mustache as a movie animal. Artist and songwriter James Horner complements the movie's pastiche, which gained cult following many years back and appeared in theaters. In other news: Disney was finally made animation to follow the little girl rocketer! –Math Patches
The Sound of Music
For fans of the music theater, there is no better pleasure to watch than Rodger and Hammerstein. They are normal and adorable, there are some complete bangers imported for good measure. Music Audio, starring Christopher Plummer and Julie Andrews as a widowed Captain Von Trapp and a young nephew who comes to care for his children, is one of the best. –EH
