This year I’m hunting extra hard for the holiday mood. In a world that is anything but, I want to feel comfortable and safe by the fireplace. There is something so calming about the crackling and crackling of a warm fire, maybe with some gently falling snow just behind the window.
Instead of a real fireplace, I turn to YouTube and video games – sometimes both! – looking for those cozy atmospheres. It’s the Yule log – a holiday tradition that began in 1966 when New York’s WPIX TV broadcast a looped video of some logs in a fireplace. Since the station revived the tradition in 2001, there has been absolutely no shortage of Yule log videos to go with popular franchises, be it Star Wars, Marvel, or even Hades.
But sometimes you don’t just want to watch. A video game yule log gives you an experience to play. Many video games have campfires and I have compiled the best ones. Here is my collection of in-game fire pits that you can sit next to or even build yourself.

Fourteen dayshas an in-game Yule log this year with a challenge for players who want to sit down and relax a bit. You can find it at the Cozy Lodge, where a tactical Santa Claus sits by a fireplace and a Christmas tree. The best news? You can also open gifts.
Dark souls
Campfire in Dark souls act as control points, which means that they are quite important and prominent in the game. They’re also a perfect place to just sit and watch a sword burn. now This is Holiday mood! Fireplaces are not just the original Dark souls, either. They are everywhere in the franchise.
Outer wilderness
Outer wilderness honestly has the best chill fireplace in the game. It doesn’t exactly have a holiday atmosphere, but it’s still extremely good. There are both chimney songs and Marshmallows for toasting.

Undertale
Undertalehas a very good, cozy fireplace. It’s simple but perfect. Who wouldn’t want to be read a story in front of a warm fire?

If you are the creative type in. are Deer crossing: New Horizons, you can also set up a cozy winter scene there. You might also want to linger next to it and create the perfect atmosphere on your Nintendo Switch.

Called Yule log (of course) the game starts with a small glowing block to start a fire, with tree trunks falling from the sky. It’s a nice little animation to watch, but it now adds a little extra as you can actually take care of the fire.
