The last time the main thing battlefield Series, which dealt with a real campaign, was already 2013, when battlefield 4 Singleplayer fell and overwhelmed pretty much everyone who got their hands on it.
I know Battlefields 1 & 5 also had some single player stuff, but they were more of a tutorial, and I never want to talk about them Battlefield Hardline again and again. So news that EA wants to return to the idea of some sort battlefield

It’s funny that despite all the shit the game ate Battlefield 2042 was perhaps the most fertile ground for a single player experience in the history of the series, for its vision of a climate-ravaged world and armies of refugees fleeing devastation sets it apart from the usual “U.S. military vs [bad guys]” premise of most other modern shooters. It’ll be interesting to see what they come up with instead, especially given how odd they call it a “campaign experience” rather than just “a new video game.”
