How to unlock expansions in Dragon’s Dogma 2
While most professions have five expansions, the Warfarer class only has two later in the game. You can unlock and equip new expansions by spending Discipline Points (Dcp) at a professional guild. (You can exchange your upgrades at a campfire, but you cannot unlock new ones there.)
According to our testing, you unlock a new upgrade approximately every two ranks per profession – at ranks 2, 4, 6 and 8 – and receive the fifth and final upgrade when you max out a profession’s rank. However, keep in mind that our calculations here are inaccurate. An excursion into the world of Dragon’s Dogma 2 This often means gaining enough experience to upgrade a profession more than once. Therefore, we don’t know exactly which ranks lead to you unlocking which improvements per profession.
But the order is consistent, and our general point remains: sometimes it’s worth spending the time upgrading a profession just to get one of its upgrades. For example, even if you detest close combat, you may want to upgrade your Fighter vocation to gain Thew, one of the best upgrades in the game.
Best expansions in Dragon’s Dogma 2
While every job is different and there is a lot of room for personal preference, here are the five enhancements you should prioritize first Dragon’s Dogma 2both for yourself and for your main pawn:
- Thew (fighter)
- Endurance (Archer)
- Vitality (Warrior)
- Fearlessness (Warrior)
- Detection (Trickster)
As mentioned above, Thew is one of the best extensions in Dragon’s Dogma 2. It’s the third profession you unlock as a fighter, and it increases the size of your inventory (your maximum loadout) – a perk that’s essential for pretty much all professions. Remember: Dragon’s Dogma 2 commits the cardinal sin of counting your equipped equipment toward your maximum load. Blasphemy!
Endurance, the second buff unlocked by playing as an archer, is also invaluable. It increases your stamina. Yes, there are a number of extensions Dragon’s Dogma 2 that provide stat boosts. But increasing your stamina is somewhat more broadly applicable than, say, increasing your magic defense (which is helpful for a warrior but not as necessary for a mage or sorcerer).
The Warrior Calling brings two major improvements: vitality (the first one you unlock) and intrepidity (the last). Vitality increases your maximum health, a benefit that needs no explanation. Intrepidity, on the other hand, protects your maximum health from a hit. When you take damage Dragon’s Dogma 2, you also take a hit to your maximum health – how much health you can recover without sleep (loss meter). Fearlessness minimizes the decline in your loss meter.
Finally, recognition, the first buff you get as a Trickster is arguably the best in the game – if you’re a completionist. When equipped, it will literally chime when you are near Wakestone Shards or those elusive Seeker Tokens.
