How to combine items in Dragon’s Dogma 2
To combine items in Dragon’s Dogma 2, open the Article Menu that shows you an overview of all the items held by each character in your party – including your character, your main character, and any characters you have hired.

Press “X” (Xbox) or Square (PS5) and you will be presented with two menus. The first is more experimental (literally called “experiment”) and allows you to combine all the items you already have in your inventory without necessarily knowing the predetermined result of the combination.

The second menu option (“Use Recipe”) allows you to do this Use recipes to combine items. Essentially, element combination is a result-oriented approach that tells you which elements you need to combine to achieve a specific result.
You can also stop by each Inn or the Storage Crate of each House you own to combine items. Either select the “Combine” dialogue option when speaking to an innkeeper, or interact with the chest in your house to combine items.
The advantage of storing items is that it is essentially a refrigerator, keeping them in pristine condition. Say you have apples or grapes in your inventory – these will rot after a few days of play, as will any meat or fish you acquire. But keeping them in an inn or in your house will prevent them from rotting, so you can use them to craft recipes at any time.
