If you didn’t know or, like me, completely discarded the information from your brain: popular social deduction game Among us Is get an animated series via CBS Studios. Today, diversity reported on the cast of the series, and it is absolutely packed with talent, including actors from some big franchises like Lord of the Rings And The last of us.
Accordingly diversityRandall Park (Just off the boat), Yvette Nicole Brown (Community), Elijah Wood (Lord of the rings), And Ashley Johnson (The last of us) will direct the animated series when it launches. There is currently no channel or streaming service associated with the project. CBS Eye Animation Productions is working on the show in collaboration with Among us developer InnerSloth, while Titmouse is the studio behind it Big mouthwill serve as an animation studio.
The character descriptions are tongue-in-cheek, suggesting that the series may contain a workplace comedy element. Park will voice “Red,” the captain of the spaceship the crew is working on, who is described as a “philanthropist” and “showoff” who “failed to the top.” Johnson will voice “Purple,” the ship’s head of security, who approaches situations with “suspicion” and “sarcasm.” Brown is set to play “Orange,” a “spineless corporate lackey who works for the company’s human resources department and fires a person “via email.” Finally, Wood will be “Green,” an unpaid intern who is just “happy to be there” and gets paid in pizza.
Based on these descriptions and this cast of talent, I’m much more excited about one Among us show than I thought possible. Like everyone else, I played the game in the early days of the pandemic, but it still didn’t stick in my mind be a cultural phenomenon. But when you see these names and get a feel for the comedy atmosphere in the workplace, it seems like it appeals to more than just the kids who made the game a meme. I also watch anything with Johnson in it.
There’s currently no definitive release window, but given that the series doesn’t yet have a channel or streaming service associated with it, that’s not surprising.
