The annual Games for Change festival that recognizes the development of compassionate, educational, and empowering community-based games will go online this summer, thanks to the worldwide COVID-19 epidemic that permanently postpones all major public gatherings in the United States.
In addition, the event is free to all attendees, Susanna Pollack, president of Games for Change, said announcement Wednesday morning.
The physical structure of the festival will continue to offer the program and existing forms have been anticipated in the past. “We also know that communication is a big part of the Festival,” wrote Pollack, “and we will provide many opportunities for attendees to interact with advisers, funders, vendors, and vice versa.”
The 2020 Games for Change festival will be held online July 14-16 and will feature Change Award Games and XR for Change Summit. The Awards will inform you of the nominations, among the games introduced in 2019, in eight categories. Two categories, Student Fun Game and Best XR's Change Experience, were added to the Awards last year.
