If there is one thing this year that the Toy Fair is made very clear, it is best for kids these days to have a good time when it comes to toys. Technological progress, along with a balanced stream of superhero films, and 80s and 90s nostalgia means that all the toys you grew up with are now colder than before.
Gizmodo and io9 took a trip through Toyota Fair 2020 this weekend. While there was nothing to mingle this year, there were still lots of toys, plushies, action figures, games, and collectibles that covered every inch of the show floor. Here's all the cool we wished we were kids again. Or at least adults with big clocks.
1. Beautiful, Baby Yoda Is
With Counterfeit, Disney was the best kept secret about The Child above all else – even if it meant that the 2019 holiday season came with the official baby retailer Baby Yoda. (Look, only the police and Disney reps call her Baby.) The Toy Fair was packed with Baby Yodas of all shapes and sizes. There is so much we can list on this small list, but you can do it catch them all here. For all Baby Yoda tie-ins, however, Hasbro & # 39; s Pictures it actually took the cake.
2. D-O and Razer Crest Lego Sets
Look, okay, there are a lot star Wars Toy Fair toys every year. Even over the year when you have a new launch that includes not one, not two, but three topics. We saw a ton of related stuff Episode IX: Awakening of Skywalker, last season of Clone Wars, again Mandalorian, but Lego & # 39; s D-O and Razer Crest sets were two of our non-baby Yoda's.
The Razer Crest set will cost $ 130 and is available for preorder at the Lego online store. It will ship on September 1. Currently, the D-O Droid set will retail for $ 70 and is available from April 19th.
3. Gooey of Hasbro, Oozy Venom Beefcake
We've seen plenty of cool action figures, but this 12.5-inch Maximum figure Venom Ooze from Hasbro is King. Not only is it seamless, but you can also load and type a slime stream in the back of its head and then just before. The ooze is cold, soft, too wet something touched. You can also use her own language jump back and forth, swing that purple gunk like a dirty grapefruit-stained spot. It's fun, crunchy, and a lot of fun when you have to. The brother will sell for $ 30 and will be available later this fall.
4. How To Train Your Toy Dragon To Really App
Spin Master's take on Flying Toothless is great. The toy has an abundance of built-in touch sensors, and the whole idea is to build a bond with this sub. As you help her build her confidence – you can tell how she feels with her colorful eyes – you will come out of her nest. What we saw was he was fired fresh out of the box, so he obviously took a bit to get on. You can adjust as he goes by allowing him to slow down in your hand. There's also a nice snack supplement & # 39; lil & # 39; s that you can feed after a flying session to recover. The type of prototype we saw had white wings, but it will get darker by the time it hits the shelves this fall. Flying Toothless will retail for $ 50.
5. Remember These Retro Officials From Tiger Electronics?
Nostalgia is hard to beat, but Hasbro had many games that were updates of popular titles from long ago. (Includes reboot of Mall of Madness.) Of all the throws, Hasbro's re-launch of Tiger Electronics & LCD Games; beat us a lot. Sure, the topics are currently limited, but they're all the same and annoying as you remember.
6. G.I. Joe's Return With 6-Inch Classified Series Figuri
The hasbro-separated series are action figures with an adult collector in mind. It's detailed and comes with a ton of accessories and specifications. For the Fair Fair, Snake Eyes was definitely the main draw – just look at his wide-ranging makeup, which includes some pretty gnarly markings. And while you don't see it in the picture here, Snake Eyes comes with a chest full of weapons. We took another look Road block and Scarlett
7. RC Cybertruck Up to 25MPH
Mattel is the master of small cars with its Hot Wheels line. But this year, it took inspiration from Tesla & # 39; s Cybertruck. There are two versions: a smaller 1:64 scale model, and a larger 1:10 scale pictured above. The tinier version may work on standard Wheels Wheels, but it comes with its own motor, rechargeable battery and wireless remote. The larger one comes with some of the broken windows for windows and the rear bed that can be opened and closed. Oh, and it goes at a speed of 25mph! The 1:64 model will retail for $ 20, while the larger one will set you back a little over $ 400.
8. Now You Can Draw Complete Circles Etch Sketch!
I MEAN TO COME. Etch Sketch was a patient of all time, and drawing circles, curves, or round edges required great skill and communication. You can now turn into a special line in Etch a Sketch Revolution and voilá. Circles are easy now. And it's only $ 10 then. You still have to practice a little, but it's not as difficult as drawing circles in a regular Etch Sketch.
