The Elden Ring’s Death Smalls are the game’s weirdest piece of armor

Games by FromSoftware, by demons souls to bloodborne to elden ring, have a general rule when it comes to armor, weapons, and other equippable items: if someone else in the world is wearing or wielding them, you can equip them too. From big metal swords to comically tall wizard hats, if you see it, you can steal it – and one of the more entertaining elements of From’s games is cosplaying as a boss you’ve killed, or as an NPC whose questline you’ve completed.

in the elden ring, there is a wide variety of armor sets and pieces to find, earn, and equip throughout the game. This includes the Deathbed Dress, a (very light) piece of armor that players can discover relatively later in the game. The dress is in Leyndell, Royal Capital, right next to a heavy armor worn by Lionel the Lionheart.

The Deathbed Dress is unique in that it appears to have once been part of a set – one that includes a hidden armor piece called Deathbed Smalls which appears to have been left on the cutting room floor. These leg armors are better described as fancy underwear, and players have discovered that they are worn by Fia, the deathbed companion, though they are not visible by normal means. (Fia’s own outfit, Fia’s Robe, can also be found and worn in it elden ring.) You can also carry the Deathbed Smalls, but not by normal means either.

FromSoftware doesn’t shy away from sending players mostly naked into its medieval worlds. Dark Souls‘Deprived and elden ring‘s Wretch, players start with little more than ragged underwear. But the chic lingerie that is the Deathbed Smalls was perhaps a bridge too far for From, who spent time modeling and applying attributes to it elden ring‘s fancy underwear, but hasn’t made them wearable through legitimate in-game means.

Of course given elden ring‘s availability on PC, players have found workarounds to acquire the Deathbed Smalls. Accordingly Attack of the Fanboyall you need is to download Cheat Engine, play elden ring offline and enter the item ID 1930300.
