Melinoë is just beginning her journey in Hades2the sequel to Supergiant Games’ brilliant roguelike game based on Greek mythology. Hades2 recently entered Early Access, and while there’s plenty of content to explore, there are still placeholders and obstacles that block player progression past a certain point. Despite this, fans are happily diving into everything on offer – and being inspired by the beautiful art style and new lore. But what if you could encounter even more new and exciting myths and legends on your journey to Olympus – including ones from entirely different games?
Jen Zee, the artist behind Hades‘ iconic art style, has inspired many artists to imitate some of these bold stylistic choices. Once you’ve drawn a character in this style, it’s easy enough to transfer it to a Hades2 Screenshot with custom text.
Would spirit of call of Duty a particularly helpful companion? On the one hand, it is a step back from all the myths and figures that currently populate Hades2. On the other hand, he has the power of a weapon, and I can imagine that being useful.
Or what if we chose a darker presence? Carmina Mora, also known as The Artist in Dead by daylight, is a tormented figure brought down by corruption and drawn into an extraplanar realm ruled by the Entity. Her appearance on the way to the Underworld isn’t all that surprising, though she doesn’t have much to say.
If you prefer a more traditional deity – albeit outside the Greek pantheon – how about Jesus Christ?
Personally, I was impressed by Dryya, an artist on X who creates mashups between Hades2 and the cast of Tasty in the Dungeonincluding encounters with Senshi, Chiltschuk, And Laius. I’m a fan of this art of Marcille, which portrays her as paler and more angsty than her typical portrayal in the anime – which is appropriate considering she wandered into a completely different estate.
Finally, I am also a huge fan of this Dark Souls crossover, which introduces everyone’s favorite knight Solaire, the Sun Lover, into the mix. Mustakro also has a Siegmeyer fanart and a crossover with Elden Ring.
Hades2 still needs some time in the oven; the Early Access title is still being tested and developed. But it’s cool to see how its art style is already inspiring fans’ creativity. I remember seeing similar fanart for the first time Hadesand the excitement seems to have only increased with the sequel. We may never see Ghost or Solaire with any of the Hades Occupation — unless there is a Fourteen days event – but it’s fun to imagine these interactions.
