A novel set in the world of League of Legends is on the way, acc an announcement from publisher Orbit. The book is called destruction, and it tells the story of Champion Kalista – an undead spirit and the embodiment of vengeance – who hunts traitors with their ghostly spears, an army of sacrificed spirits. in the Destruction, We will see the living version of Kalista, a general and niece of King Viego.
The story of Kalista, Viego and Queen Isolde has already been told in the game; Viego is the primary antagonist of Ruined King: A History of League of Legends (a standalone RPG) and last year’s Ruination in-game event. However, the novel looks like it will explore the circumstances leading up to the historical event on the Blessed Isles – now the horrific Shadow Isles – and Kalista’s life prior to her transformation.
The card game Legends of Runeterra has previously provided additional lore about Kalista, including her partner Ledros, another forsaken spirit on the Shadow Isles. Ledros is dedicated to ending the Curse of the Isles and freeing Kalista, so we’ll likely find out more about this fan-favorite character.
There is no release date for yet Destruction. The novel is penned by Anthony Reynolds, a lead writer at Riot. In late 2021, Riot and Netflix partnered for the release arcanean animated series set in the world of Runeterra.
