It’s time to return to the lands in between. Elden Ring developer FromSoftware announced this on Tuesday that it will release the first trailer for the expansion of the open-world role-playing game, Shadow of the Earth Treeon Wednesday, February 21st.
Elden Ring: Shadow of the Earth TreeThe highly anticipated reveal trailer will go live on Bandai Namco and FromSoftware’s YouTube channels at 10am EST/7am PST/4pm CET. The three-minute trailer is preceded by a 30-minute countdown.
Elden Ring: Shadow of the Earth Tree was announced last February, but developer FromSoftware has revealed little about its DLC for the 2022 Game of the Year. “Stand up, Tarnished, and let’s forge a new path together,” the developer said at the time. “An upcoming expansion for Elden Ring, Shadow of the Earth Tree, is currently in development. We hope you look forward to new adventures in the Lands Between.”
This location and the main actors of Shadow of the Earth Tree were hinted at in a single piece of art released alongside the original announcement of the DLC. This artwork included a nod to Miquella of the Haligtree: a demigod, Empyrean, and twin brother of the fearsome Malenia – and a character we don’t actually see in the original Elden Ring. Miquella is teased in the fight against Mohg, where he is trapped in a disgusting egg sack.
Elden Ring is available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X. Shadow of the Earth Tree is expected to come to these platforms too.
