PlanetSide 2, a multiplayer combat game that was launched in 2012, is available great review on Wednesday. Senior producer Andy Sites tells Polygon that it's part of the effort to put in a way to get power PlanetSide 3. He says the sequel has not yet been officially announced, but his newly edited studio is committed to doing "whatever" needs to be done to make the franchise work. Currently that means "binding" the live version of PlanetSide 2 with new features and content.
Rumors of PlanetSide 3 have been circulating for a while, reaching new momentum in October 2019. That is when the sites themselves appeared to have confirmed that the game had been split between official blog post
“I didn't officially announce it PlanetSide 3 Humanities have improved, ”Sites told Polygon during a telephone interview in January.
The past few months have been a tough time for Daybreak Games, a company that not only owns PlanetSide but also EverQuest, DC Universe Online and H1Z1. It recently switched to a publisher role, reorganizing its major products under three different studios. Rogue Planet Games, directed by the Sites, is now facing the planet of Planet Plane. But the studio itself endures its challenges, including the decision to decline PlanetSide Arena, the first live access game on Steam for a few months.
Sites now say his party is putting all its energy into renewable energy PlanetSide 2, available on PC and PlayStation 4.
"Like all games and franchises that have been operating for almost 17 years as a PlanSide, we are always thinking about the future," Sites said. “We're not ready to start talking about it PlanetSide 3
A new update, which goes live tomorrow for PC players, is called The climb. It will include Bastion Fleet Carriers, which Rogue Planet describes as "the greatest production intelligence that can be summoned to war once it is up and re-armed." The Bastions will serve as an active base for teams as they fight battles in the biggest square-mile game. It's something the community has been looking forward to for a long time, and hopefully will breathe new life into the game.
“There won't be PlanetSide 3 if we do not continue to support it PlanetSide 2, and we do not go on to suggest that the PlanetSide experience is unparalleled and wonderful, ”said Sites. “So our focus right now is on that moment and it continues to emphasize that with the live game. In due course we are ready to start talking about the future, which will be PlanetSide 3. ”
When asked if, given the new studio building, Daily Breakak would publish it Planetside 3 If a match is made, the Sites have said that the studio will do "whatever [needs to be done] moving forward."
"That's fine with a lunch break," the sites said. "If there are different ways to publish, and Daybreak is okay with that, then, it's best to go a long way as that means we can continue to deliver what we want to do with PlanetSide."
