New mode is called REALLY it brings reality to Grand Theft Auto 5, which means that you can finally visit Los Santos to get the full immersive immersive experience in VR. Mod creators had to cut some corners to make the game compatible with modern head-mounted models such as Rift and Vive. Just an hour of gameplay last week made me sick all night.
After about an hour of updating the drivers and installing my headset, finding the software itself was incredibly easy. The first step was to start with the new installation GTA 5. I bought mine to Steam. Then I downloaded the module, which is completely free. I lost my old final file, so I caught someone else from the internet data. After installing the mod, I was off to the races. You can find the complete installation tutorial, compilation links to all the files you need, Courtesy of YouTube's Virtual Reality Oasis
After using the quick batch file to select the mod quality settings, I was able to start moving around Franklin's Safe House in Whispymound Drive straight away. This is where I found the featured bong, all loaded and ready to go. I spent a few minutes wandering around, watching fake television programs, and staring at Franklin's television. The experience was truly incredible. It sounds a bit like some of the previously worn outfits that come with most VR headsets, without a shovel attached.
Then I went out the front door, put on a helmet and got in a heavy motorcycle. This is where things start to become – iffy.
To create a truly stereoscopic 3D effect, you must show each player's eye a different image. To make it comfortable, the game needs to keep serving those images at a rate of 90 frames per second. Double it – one screen in each eye – and you end up at 180 fps, which is a herculean task and even modest video games. With an open-world adventure game as challenging as GTA 5, 180 fps is not realistic. So, the REAL composer cheated on something called “alteration of the eyes. ”
Suffice it to say, the result is not good. There is a paradox between the right and the left. It is especially noticeable when you look to your left or right while driving. Things are not much different and, at times, it felt like I was seeing a double. Staying idle with a machete in Franklin's apartment was great, but hitting the high speed on the freeway and turning my head to please the coastline left me wanting to be unlucky all over my office. Put in some minor flaws and imperfections that come with something like this in an existing video game, and it wasn't a good thing.
But, it was noteworthy when I last.
Leaning down on the handlebars of a powerful first-person bike, racing with the oncoming traffic of VR, is amazing. I also gained a new respect for artists at Rockstar Games, who created the beauty of fun cars. There were also deja vu times, including my trip to Los Santos airport in the taxi. That center is clearly imitated after Los Angeles International Airport, a place I've been to at least a dozen times over the years. Taking that trip in VR sounds like taking an Uber.
I was especially impressed with how well the mod worked GTA 5A collection of aircraft. It turns out that cockpits are genuinely defined and measured to match the player's character. The viewing feeling is right there War Thunder, which supports the traditional VR headsets of its aircraft.
But offering it differently to the eyes disagrees with me. After about an hour my stomach couldn't take any more. There is a way to disable different-eye rendering, but by losing the 3D effect. Not sure if it's worth it, but I meant to find out soon.
What excites me most is that the mode is not a complete conversion. It's like a new game-integration mode, which gives me the power to start GTA 5 on or off VR. I intend to spend more time in the game this week, gaining a bit of experience in many archival files. That way I can try skydiving, for example, without the hassle of getting sick myself by going back to the airport. Here we hope that people use the same strategy to duplicate the game's signature features, including the famous Hole Liquor Hole, in VR.
The REAL model is available on Github. This is also where you can find it legal instructions setup.
