The hottest gaming takeovers of the week, from the Game Awards to GTA 6

It was a big week for the scantily clad at Kotaku this week, with both GTA 6 And Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth give the players a lot of skin. We are doing very well too excited about the new Stand out show, but decidedly less enthusiastic about the minimal focus on the actual awards at this week’s Game Awards.

These are the week’s most interesting perspectives on the wild, wonderful and sometimes strange world of video game news.

God, I hope my Xbox Series S can run GTA 6

Grand Theft Auto 6 looks great. Unless this week’s debut trailer was fake, it could be one of the best-looking games of this console generation when it releases in 2025. my Xbox Series S will be five years old. I cringe when I think of that sleek little white box trying to play Rockstar Games’ latest open-world blockbuster. -Ethan Gach Read more

I played about six hours of Ubisoft’s new game Avatar: Borders of Pandora And that is my big insight Avatar Sick people will love this game, Far Cry Primal Fans will be thrilled to see Ubisoft return to this formula, and everyone else, well… uh… damn, the game is really pretty, isn’t it? – Zack Zwiezen Read more

GTA 6 Proves the best video game trend of 2023 is here to stay

Historically, television and film adaptations of video games have not had the best track record. However, in recent years there has been a change. Pikachu, Sonic and Mario have all starred in hit films, starting earlier this year The last of us got a real prestige adaptation that certainly left its mark on fans. -Claire Jackson Read more

And that’s it. The Game Awards 2023 are over. 32 awards were spread over three and a half hours. With so much time spent, you’d think that the show would have taken the time to really celebrate all the developers and games nominated for what the show calls “Gaming’s Biggest Night.” No. Instead, the show races through it faster than before, making me wonder why it even pretends to be an awards show anymore. – Zack Zwiezen Read more

Hope for A Final Fantasy Tactics Remastered Springs Eternal

Final Fantasy Tactics characters await their PC port.

Final Fantasy Tactics Is one of the best games Square Enix has ever produced, and it’s not available anywhere on modern consoles or PCs. A remaster is an obvious way to fix this problem, and it seemed like all signs point to one day being announced. So it’s a particularly cruel twist of fate that the original game’s director, Yasumi Matsuno, continues to play with fans’ emotions over whether or not there will actually be a remaster. -Ethan Gach Read more

Cyberpunk 2077 is in a pretty good place these days. After a Dumpster fire of a bargethe next-gen update, 2.0 patchAnd Phantom freedom The expansion has brought CD Projekt Red’s open-world role-playing game to a respectable level. The 2.1 patch released this week adds a nice little bow to the game as it “last big update.” It has long-requested features like A working subway that you can use to travel through Night City, and it also allows V, its mercenary protagonist, to spend some time with his lover in their apartment. The result is a delightful stay-at-home date with your beloved, but as sweet as it is, these hangouts highlight something that feels left unaccounted for Cyberpunk 2077 Redemption arc: the romance. – Kenneth Shepard Read more
