There are few studios that outperform their respective games like Mimimi. from shadow tactics to desperados 3they have proven themselves the masters of the modern stealth tactical game and are back in 2023 with a brand new game, this time about pirates.
That is Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew, which is due to appear towards the end of the year. It won’t take long to see some familiar sights in the trailers below: The mix of real-time action combined with stealth tactics and special powers is one that Mimimi has perfected over the last decade, and after embracing some magic in her last tried the game they are now fully committed to.

Aside from the obvious thematic shift from one colorful era of history to another, this is all going to look like this very familiar fans of shadow tactics and desperados 3. Which, let’s be clear, is a very good thing. These two games have come as close to perfecting a genre as games can get shadow gambit will play around with the edges of the Mimimi experience and not make sweeping changes.

I cannot praise Desperados 3 enough. It’s almost the perfect stealth experience, tense but not scary, empowering but not easy (it gets really tough in parts), and if that’s the pedigree that Mimimi is building for herself in this space, I can’t wait to see what’s next.
