The official unveiling of a Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake was one of Sony’s headliners current PlayStation 5 presentation, but it will probably take some time before it’s ready. Luckily, a collection of Metal Gear classics is coming to modern platforms this fall, and it will indeed contain more games than originally expected.
Announced alongside Metal Gear Solid 3 DeltaKonami’s Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1
This means that the whole thing will house the first games in the spy stealth series:
- metal gears
- Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake
- Metal Gear Solid (Including VR Missions/Special Missions)
- Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty (HD Collection Version)
- Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (HD Collection version)
The first two games took place on MSX2, Solid
All of these games were before removed from older stores in 2021 about issues related to “Licenses for selected historical archive material used in the game”. Konami says the new collection will feature the original versions of the games with “minimal changes to copyrighted content.”
In any case, it’s a lot metal gears, and if it’s on par with Konami’s other classic collections, it will hopefully be a worthy tribute to the franchise and its preservation. We don’t have an exact price or release date yet, but it should keep fans busy until then snake eater reissuefor better or for worse, come at last.
