The arrival of the new era of Scarlet & Violet Pokémon TCG cards are now just four weeks away. As players around the world prepare for the big shift from V-Cards to Ex’s Rebirth, the base sets have been available in Japan for over a month, and now the follow-up set, Triple Beat, amazingly reveals some beautiful cards. So let’s focus on the essentials: which ones are the most desirable.
Read about it: most beautiful. Since none of the maps will be available until March 31st, and some of them may not reach non-Japanese shores until at least June, we’re not worrying about value just yet. (Although the more elaborate and beautifully designed the map, the more expensive it tends to be, so they often go hand-in-hand.) We’re not bothering about playability either, as we’re a long way from exploring the upcoming metas of the tabletop game . No, today we are thinking about which ones have the most beautiful works of art and which ones we would most like to pull out of a foil packaging over the next few months.
With Scarlet & Violet‘s base set, we won’t see the same split release that appeared in Japan. Over there packages were released as both Scarlet fever
We can assume that most of the maps will be those in Japan SV Releases from base sets, but traditionally a few are held back for later international sets, with little discernible rhyme or reason. At this time there is also more confusion with that SV the release of the base set, which is coming to us a full month later than usual, and rumors of a special re-release of the first 151 Kanto cards coming this summer. That would rout a release fitting Japan’s triple beat unless it’s a super early special set situation, like last year’s release of Pokemon Go‘s set overlaps Chilling Reign and Evolving Skies. Pull out!
Leaving all that speculation aside, let’s get down to what really matters: our favorite cards in the top two Scarlet & Violet Japanese sets (although some by Triple Beats are yet to be revealed next week).
