Conan, the barbarian, comes straight from Cimmeria and makes his way Mortal Kombat 1 later this month as part of the ongoing Chaos reigns Extension.
Conan's appearance in Mortal Kombat 1 is based on the 1982 film of the same name starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. And while Arnold gave the fighter his likeness, voice actor Chris Cox – who also played the Terminator – dubbed Mortal Kombat 11 – does an impeccable job recreating the Governor’s iconic Austrian accent.
The swordplay shown in Conan's reveal is surprisingly fluid for a Mortal Kombat game, utilizing some of the best animation work of the franchise's modern era. Also look out for a variety of Easter eggs, including Conan fighting alongside one red Sonya and an animality that transforms him into a Cimmerian bull, the same animal that supposedly strangled Conan as a child in creator Robert E. Howard's early stories.
Conan will be available on January 21st as part of an early access period for those who purchased it Chaos reigns Expansion complete and January 28th for everyone else. He is the fifth guest character to join Mortal Kombat 1 Schedule afterwards Invincible's Omni-Man, DC Comics' Peacemaker, The boys' Homelander, and Screamis Ghostface. Terminator 2The T-1000 is planned to round out the game's playable roster at some point in the future.
