In the good news of Pokémon–strange people (me), it seems that Nintendo is the only one The sword and A shoe the earth. The company has plans to add expansion packs later this year to introduce new locations in the Galar region. That's incredible!
And I hope the expansion will continue to build on one of the key themes in it Pokémon sword and A shoe. The game takes place openly in a world where climate change exists and where there are fossil fuels to blame. Sounds familiar, huh? The The Crown Tundra The expansion pack will be released in the fall and placed in a frozen freezer, and I think meeting Pokémon is looking at the disastrous effects of sea ice and ice. Or maybe there's a side project where we meet a tundra-based professor who is studying permafrost melting. Opportunities to explore Pokémon's climate change are endless here.
Much has already happened in the latest version. Power plays a key role in this game. But it is also clear the power of the industrial and industrial sectors in the past have found victims of Pokémon living in Galar, a new world in The sword and A shoe. The resemblance of our world could not be clearer.
A new breed of Corsola, rock and water Pokémon inspired by beautiful peachy corals, news in November by its appearance. The Galar version, called Cursola, has been cursed for climate change and turned white due to shock by "rapid climate change." Cursola's conclusion looks at what coral has done in the real world to be blown away by an explosion due to warming oceans and high levels of carbon that turn the ocean into acidic.
I haven't caught Cursola yet, but it's not the only Pokémon directly affected by climate change in the Galar region. One Pokémon I downloaded is Weezing. In previous versions, it was a cloud of smoke. But the new version adds important details to show where the smoke came from. What does this look like in this game:
And while they may look like like a bong or a a great hat To some, Weezing's new form looks like a smokestack to me. And it took that form not because it weed very hard but because of the dirt.
"Long ago, at a time when the mechanical industry was filling the air with pollution, Weezing changed it that way for some reason," The description on Pokedex is readable.
That sounds a lot like what happened here on Earth as the petroleum companies have turned our atmosphere into a garbage dump. That makes them the cause of climate change.
I caught a couple of Weezings and gave them names to honor some real-world critics given the obvious similarities between the game and the Earth. Meet BP, my current girl.
I have two other Weezings that I've named Exxon and DRM. However, I left them in the nursery in the hope that they would give me another egg, which would be stronger and more Weezing strong when it would be brown instead of gray. I think I'll call that one ConocoPhillips. Or maybe the Royal Dutch Shell (or just Shell in short).
This is the world we live in, where even video games ignore the dangers of pollution and climate change. However Pokémon sword and A shoe and it shows that we can change course. While this version of Weezing may not look like it's continuing this legacy of contamination, Pokémon is actually filtering out poisonous air, according to the makers of the game. No wonder Weezing is both a type and a poison. It's amazing magic.
We do not have the kind of technology today in the real world that can clean up polluted air. If Only. But that doesn't mean we can't work on building it and kicking the fuel in the wagons.
