Here are two key facts about Stewart Copeland. First, he was the drummer for The police. Second, he composed the soundtracks to the three originals Spyro the dragon games. You need to keep those two things in mind for this story.
Copeland was recently interviewed by vultureand at the very end after spending an eternity talking about his past, his musical tastes and some thoughts on how people are taking him and him Those of the police work, he tells a story about the private school his children go to and how He had a most fortuitous meeting with a parent specific. As he remembers:
My kids go to a private school in West Los Angeles, and they hold annual galas and fundraisers. The parents donate about two weeks in a Swiss chalet or whatever, and I’m the curmudgeon, so I say, “Drum lessons with Stewart Copeland.” Eventually a father brings his kid and the kid might care less, but the Father makes fun of the police. Basically, I tell stories to the dads and show the kids how to hold the sticks. But one year a father without a child comes by. He wants drum lessons. It’s quite an expensive school. He must have achieved something in life. I show him some stuff on the drums. I’m cautiously trying to find out: “Are you a musician? You play in a band?” But he sees mine Spyro Frame that says triple platinum. He says: “Oh, Spyro. Do you like these games?” I said, “Yes. I’m actually considering taking it Spyro and to orchestrate it and turn it into an orchestral piece. I just need to find the guy who owns the copyright now.” And he said, “I can help you with that. i own them I’m the CEO of Activision. Now that you mention it, we should relaunch the game.” So they relaunched it two years later. They rebuilt it from scratch.
