In its final round of tax results, 505 Games’ parent company, Digital Bros, appeared to be disclosing that a Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Continuation was in progress. But when the publisher reached out for a comment, it was surprisingly aloof.

The Original document from Digital Bros. included a bullet point in his Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Slide that mentions a “second version” is under development. This is not a rockAs solid evidence of a sequel, the presentation used similar language when referring to the announced Ghost runner episode, distinguish the confirmed continuation from the first Ghost runner‘s upcoming next generation port.

Kotaku turned to the publisher for confirmation of its potential Bloodstained Episode.

“505 Games has no additional information to share Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night at that point, ”said a company representative Kotaku by email.

At some point after the original document was published, Digital Bros updated its investor page with it a new presentation of the results that removed any mention of a “second version” of that Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Section. If this were just a mistake, I would expect 505 Games to be at the forefront on this point to quell speculation instead of being mum on the whole situation.

As long as Castlevania Producer Koji Igarashi’s first project after leaving Konami in 2014, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night It attracted a lot of attention leading up to its 2019 release. It raised over $ 5.5 million in crowdfunding and promised a return to the classic action-RPG style popularized by Igarashi in Castlevania Games like 1997 Symphony of the night and 2003 Aria of sorrow. Despite some delays during development, the game is largely delivered on that promise and even brought in a 2D spin-off series Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon and its continuation.

That’s all to say that a Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Follow-up is out of the question. While Igarashi’s name may not be attractiveOn the same hype as in the past, he remains one of the most legendary game creators. He also spoke very loudly about wanting Bloodstained becoming a franchise instead of remaining a one-time release, tell Game Informer in 2019 that the game should be a “starting point” for future projects.

In any case, it is difficult to find out with confidence what is really going on here. Video game companies are known to make mistakes, but this feels different than a simple copy-editing mistake. I think we just have to wait and see.
