The Shapeshifter is an upcoming (and terrifying) addition to Among Us

Innersloth has revealed a terrifying new trick

that scammers will have their sleeves up their sleeves in the near future Between us To update. The shapeshifter is a new role that impostors can have; the rest new Between us Roles will all be for the crewmate side. And with a shapeshifter coming into the ranks, crewmates will definitely have their hands full.

The shapeshifter can mold himself well by bringing up a menu of all living crew members in the game. The shapeshifter can take on his looks, including his color, cosmetics, and name. This only takes a short time and it takes a moment to change shape so you’ll have to play things carefully or everyone will see you try to wear a mate’s face. The shapeshift also leaves evidence so that discerning detectives can spot the deception.

This, of course, is a spectacular way to gas up your friends and wreak havoc in a lobby. You can slander crew members, dress up after committing a heinous crime, and otherwise confuse the good guys before they can root out the crooks. Crewmembers will want to keep an eye on their friends and consider very carefully whether the bean they are approaching is a trustworthy ally or a deadly chameleon.

Players can update their custom options to customize many things on the Shapeshifter. Innersloth shared additional details in the Developer blog:

Probability: In the game lobby settings, you can change the number and chance of an impostor having the ability to create. You can completely disable the chance of having the Shapeshift role.

e.g. 2 shapeshifters, with a 30% chance of a shapeshifter role appearing

Duration of the change in shape: How long a cheater stays postponed after changing.

Leave the shape change proof: Whether there is physical evidence that a shapeshifter was left in a room after the impostor transformed.
