Cryptocurrency and NFT exchanges Crypto.com announced it was twenty years ago Naming license agreement for the Los Angeles arena currently known as the Staples Center could being the largest American venue-naming deal of all time.
The Staples Center, also known as The House The Kobe Built, is home to the Lakers, Clippers, and Kings, among others. Home to the Grammy Awards and numerous concerts, it is too next to the Los Angeles Convention Center where E3 has been going on for decades. When E3 returns to an in-person event, cryptocurrency and NFTs will appear about the gaming expo in more ways than one– and will be the focus of all E3 events in the arena.
The name of the arena will be changed on December 25th, and all exterior signs and markings will be changed by June 2022. But that’s not all, like this the official announcement:
As the exclusive naming partner, Crypto.com will appeal to millions of sports and entertainment fans every year through premium branded areas in the arena, including a 3,300 m² activation room at the entrance to the building as well as special activation areas in the main hall of the arena and on the entire LA LIVE campus. In addition, thanks to the new relationship, Crypto.com will be prominently represented throughout the venue with extensive premium branding and signage throughout the interior and exterior of the facility.
“Known as the creative capital of the world, the city of Los Angeles and the people who call it home have always been pioneers, pushing boundaries and innovating as undeniable global leaders in culture and entertainment,” said Crypto.com -Co-founder and CEO Kris Marszalek in a written statement.
Crypto.com already has a partnership with the Montreal Canadiens, Italian soccer league Lega Serie A and Twitch rivals.
At the time of writing, of course, the E3 Discover Los Angeles website still lists The arena as a stapling center. But after December 25th, that will change for the next two decades. What will this future bring?
