The TV series Last Of Us had a few trailers, a very short one and one a little longer, but both were more of the teaser variety, keeping things close to their chests and only featuring brief scene flashes and action. However, HBO released a third trailer over the weekend, and this one has one a lot of more going on.
This trailer is over two minutes long and actually offers expanded glimpses of scenes from the series and in particular the exchanges between some of the main characters.
If you’re tired of the highly specific genre of post-apocalyptic road trip TV series in the near future – and who could blame you station eleven, sweet tooth and Y: The last man Landed just in the last year or so – then maybe this isn’t for you, because as we already know from the game, that’s exactly what’s happening here too. It’ll be interesting to see how random viewers who haven’t played the game react to this, because when my wife first saw the trailer for this series, she anecdotally just said, “Oh no, not another one of those”.
But then these shows were all good (station eleven being especially good), and if instead you’re someone who played the first game in the series, then you immediately realized how faithful this is trying to be – at least from those scenes – to the source material, to a few more things from the left behind
Then again, this is only a two-minute trailer, so who knows how faithful the actual series will be! And since so many of us have played through this story once (or more) already a few times, who cares!
