earlier this year, Capcom officially introduced exoprimala new anthem-like online shooter with lots of dinosaurs. This dinosaur-filled trailer also featured a woman with red hair, which seemed like a nod or even a connection dino crisis 1 and 2 guide Regina. Was that new? exoprimal game connected Dino Crisis? Well, now we have confirmation straight from Capcom that… no, it’s not. We’re sorry.
In conversation with IGN earlier this weekCapcom Director Takuro Hiraoka talked about what exoprimal is and, more importantly for some players, what it is not. At the request of IGN if exoprimal is connected to Dino Crisis In any case, he confirmed that while the original trailer hinted at some sort of connection, it wasn’t the case.
“No,” Hiraoka replied. “The game is its own and has no relation to it Dino Crisis.”
I have no idea if IGN I asked this, but a good follow-up question I would have asked is: Then what was the decision-making process behind a new dinosaur game that starred a red-haired woman? exoprimal‘s reveal first? All that came out was anger and disappointment Dino Crisis fans for no reason and these poor souls don’t have to suffer anymore. Many of them had to endure playing the last released game in the series, 2003 Dino Crisis 3. You’ve suffered enough.
Other details revealed in the same interview include confirmation that exoprimal will not be a free-to-play game, but a “full price” version available both digitally and physically.

According to Hiraoka, the original concept for exoprimal was to create something that offered “satisfying action” but differed from previous Capcom games.
“Instead of a game like monster hunterwhere you face a single, powerful enemy, we felt the experience of fighting and overcoming a massive horde of enemies had the appeal and potential to be the foundation of a new IP,” explained Hiraoka.
“We also thought it would be great to share this experience with others online, and that’s how the basic concept of was born exoprimal was born.”
Once the team settled in exoprimal‘s Gameplay concept, the next step was figuring out what kind of enemies would form the large hordes of villains that players would be tasked to fight and kill. Hiraoka said selecting dinosaurs are the main enemies exoprimal
“I thought it would be fun to experience the menace of history’s most fearsome predators,” Hiraoka said. “And if there were hundreds or thousands of them, it would be of an intensity that has never been seen before.” This also led the team to go futuristic, believing that modern weaponry would not be sufficient to to stop the huge amount of dinos that players would encounter during the missions.
Of course, none of this really matters to all of you Dino Crisis Lovers out there who continue to watch Capcom Remake and remaster each resident Evil game ever made while his classic dinosaur-filled survival horror franchise lingers in the dark and is destined to remain as extinct as the dinosaurs themselves.
However, exoprimal is scheduled for release in 2023 for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One. And who knows, maybe Capcom will throw in some more Dino Crisis skins.
