What if your adoptive parents don't give you a fadoodle about your health? The children of Willoughby have the answer to this: send their parents on a dangerous vacation and find a new family.
New animflix movie, The Willoughbys, based on a children's book of the same name by Lois Lowry. The book presents a variety of stories for children with happy endings, as the Willoughby children seek their own happiness – or "at least one satisfactory one. ”
It's like A series of unfortunate events, but hopefully more burnout is baked into the whole message. After the children of Willoughby are left alone, a fantasy (portrayed by Maya Rudolph) will take care of them. But with family resources on their tail – children need to have parents, they say – the Willoughbys have run away, determined to find out what the real purpose of the family is.
Other contributors to the voice will be used by Will Forte, Alessia Cara, Jane Krakowski, Martin Short, Ricky Gervais, and Terry Crews.
The Willoughbys hits Netflix on April 22.
