Starfield will be released in September 2023. But as creative director Todd Howard emphasized in previous interviews, the game is designed to last a long time. The core gameplay is also expected to get some love through updates. The blog post states that future updates will provide you with:
“Settings [to] Change your gameplay to allow for an easier or more challenging experience that goes beyond our normal “difficulty” setting. This allows you to easily customize carrying capacity, cargo access distance, ship damage, merchant credits, how you suffer ailments, new survival mechanics, and more.”

The studio didn’t say much about the upcoming project Starfield Extension, Shattered space. In scant detail, it mentioned “new story content, new locations, new equipment and,” you guessed it, “much more.”

Bethesda also shared some nice stats for those of you who like numbers. What stands out is 12,276,466 deaths from the Ecliptic, making them the deadliest faction in the game.
Another nice statistic is that around 1.6 million players finished Starfield, many of whom probably crossed the endgame “unit” a total of 5,178,133 times. Additionally, Sense Star Stuff, the ability to see people through walls, was the most commonly used power.
Time will tell how well the additional features are received by the community. While Starfield Although there are some nice twists in the narrative and a good sense of scale, the game could certainly use a boost with more interesting gameplay features.
