Flame Fatales starts today and as with the previous Fatales events, this is a women speed running showcase that is raising money for charity. Everything you need to know about the event is here, including where to see it, how to donate, and when it starts.
What is Flame Fatales?
This is a women only speed running event that is organized and operated by Games Done Quick, also known as GDQ. Like other GDQ events, Flames Fatales raises money for charity. Basically, it’s a week-long show that features some of the best speed runners in the world a long list of games as fast as you can while also explaining how to do it while you are doing it. The event begins today, August 15th, and will last through August 21st.
Where can i watch it?
As with previous GDQ-related events, Flame Fatales is completely free to watch and you can get it right here. And all of these runs help make money for charity, so be sure to check it out!
Wait, is this for a good cause?
Yup! Flame fatales raises money for the Malala Fund, a non-profit organization that helps girls around the world attend school. Last year, during the Fleet Fatales 2020 event, a similar women-only speed running event, the group managed to get over $ 80,000 for the nonprofit charity. Before that, another Fatales event raised nearly $ 55,000 for the same charity. So yes, while it’s fun to see great speed runs, this isn’t just fun content, it’s a huge event for a good cause.

What time is everything running?
There is a schedule here. It’s such a good schedule that it will automatically detect your time zone and display the times / dates accordingly. The pre-show for the event begins at 1:30 p.m. EST.
Be prepared for a long list of games, some of which have surprisingly new games rolling out this week, such as Immortal Fenyx Rising and The pathless one. There even seems to be a whole day devoted mainly to this sound Games.
What if I miss something?
Relax! Official GDQ YouTube channel will eventually upload each run so you can go back and check out stuff you missed or super cool runs that you want to see again. GDQ did this for the last Fatales event, Fleet Fatales. YesYou can check out this playlist here.
