Regardless of how you feel about the current season, Rings of Power, If you’re looking for another way to satisfy your Tolkien love, be sure to check out the current catalog of free games available to Amazon Prime members. Earlier this month, both Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor GOTY Edition and Lego The Lord of the Rings
Replacing the entire cast of Peter Jackson’s Hobbit trilogy with Lego minifigures not only greatly improves the comic elements, but also the epic scenes. Traveller’s Tales Lego The Hobbit presents an abridged version of Frodo’s quest that I find more entertaining than the seven-hour trilogy. Lego The Hobbit is currently listed for $19.99 on Steam, but Amazon Prime members can grab this title for free until October 23. While this free version of the game doesn’t include any of the additional characters or items included as post-launch DLC, you’ll still have the opportunity to unlock and play nearly 100 characters in single-player or local co-op.
The original open world Lord of the rings Game, Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor is a clear recommendation for fans of the Assassin’s Creed series or similar immersive simulations. This original story takes place before the events of The Lord of the Rings features a long list of talented voice actors, including Matthew Mercer, Troy Baker, Jennifer Hale, John DiMaggio and more.
This 2014 title may be a little long in the tooth, but the gameplay is still solid and the lower system requirements make it easy to enjoy on the Steam Deck (via a third-party launcher) or other portable gaming PCs. The GOTY edition includes all post-launch DLC and currently costs $19.99 on Steam, but Prime members can add this title to their GOG library for free.
Somehow the developers of Traveller’s Tales have managed to inject the typical wit and charm of the Lego titles into a franchise that takes itself almost too seriously. Lego The Lord of the Rings features the familiar co-op gameplay of the Lego games based on Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings trilogy, complete with voice acting from the original cast. This title currently costs $19.99 on Steam, but Amazon Prime members can get this game for free.
In addition to the three outstanding titles based on the Tolkien series, Amazon Prime members can currently get up to two dozen more free games. We recommend you check out the full list of titles, but we’ve picked out a handful that we think you should definitely add to your library before they’re out of stock.
