immortalitythe narrative video game developed by Your history‘s Sam Barlow is now available for free to Netflix subscribers on Apple iPhone and iOS devices. What’s even more intriguing is that the story’s full-motion video – which includes nudity and multiple sex scenes – is presented intact.
immortality is a mystery game about the disappearance of a fictional actress named Marissa Marcel, whose career spans from the 1960s to the 1990s. Gameplay involves adjusting camera cuts from Marcel’s films to unlock more footage showing her on camera and rehearsing. Finally, after reviewing the footage, the player is able to piece together the puzzle of what happened to her. It’s a Polygon Recommended game and already one of the best of 2022 in our opinion.
So one of the films in Marcel’s biography is “a sexual thriller”. immortalityAdult Content by . Apple’s App Store is notoriously strict on games, apps, or other content with adult themes, especially sexually explicit content. Nudity is of course still present in content from streaming services like Netflix or HBO Max (or in the user’s own iCloud folder, to be honest), but immortality would be a rare example of an app with sexually explicit material stored on an iOS device itself.
