Helldivers 2 is a very good third-person online co-op sci-fi shooter. How, Really Good. But it’s not the most stable game, as many players (myself included) fail missions just because the game crashed. And now players are learning that snowballs can lead to some of these all-too-common accidents.
Helldivers 2 was released in February to rave reviews and has quickly become one of the biggest success stories of 2024. So many people tried to play it upon release that Servers kept crashing on PS5 and PC
As discovered by IGNin a March 28 post on the officially Helldivers 2 Discord serverArrowhead Games’ community leader – known on the server as Baskinator – urged players to avoid picking up and throwing snowballs in the co-op shooter. This gameplay option has been available on snowy planets since launch, and although the balls don’t do much damage, they’re fun to throw at friends or enemies. But for now, players should avoid throwing snowballs as it can cause crashes.
“We are aware of an accident caused by picking up and throwing snowballs,” Baskinator said. “We hope to resolve the issue in the near future, but until then we advise against throwing snowballs!”
No other information was shared in the message warning players to avoid snowballs.
Since the start Helldivers 2 is struggling with technical errors. As previously mentioned, the game’s servers were destroyed by thousands of people trying to play the game at the same time. There was too an annoying black screen problem This bothered some players. And how IGN reportedSome bow weapons and Stratagems caused crashes earlier this month, prompting a similar warning from developers to avoid them – like the snowballs – until they were fixed in a patch.
It’s a testament to how good Helldivers 2 is that despite all these crashes and other problems, I keep trying to play it. Hopefully, with more patches and more time, Helldivers 2 becomes a more reliable and solid experience.
