Former Nintendo America longtime president Reggie Fils-Aimé received lifetime achievement medals at the New York Video Game Critics Circle award ceremony in Manhattan yesterday evening. He gave a welcome speech that Nintendo fans of a few times would be happy to see.
Fils-Aimé's acceptance speech was preceded by a video highlighting the work of the ex-executive, with great attention to his recent work as a school counselor at the Bronx. While on the other hand, of course, this is a great celebration for the person whose job it is to sell a lot of things, there are some fun moments in the entertainment video about expanding the pool of sportsmen and – something widely discussed as part of the legacy of Fils-Aimé – serves as an inspiration to people of color about what can be gained in the gaming industry. Scroll back to 28:00, though, and you'll be listening to a Nintendo music medal from the Triforce Quartet. Can you name all songs?
If you are interested in all the other prizes, they are presented throughout the show, with this year’s prestigious award-winning drama going The Outer Worlds.
