If, like many others, you have had to wait almost a decade Dragon Age: Dread Wolfsince then you have also lived for the series by Krümel Dragon Age: Inquisition introduced in 2014. Well, thanks to the wonders of social media engagement farming, we got a few new insights in to developing Bioware’s fantasy RPGs to tide us over until we get more dire wolf
It all started with a Twitter trend asking what people knew about “useless” trifles about various art forms and media properties – it existed “useless” video game knowledgefor example as well “useless” animation facts— and finally got one to ask people their most useless dragon time facts. While some people talked about some well-known facts, such as the name for the series’ world, Thedas, was a codename used for “The dragon time Attitude” That stuck, there were a few BioWare developers who chimed in and shared some behind-the-scenes stories about the development of the RPGs.
Horses don’t actually sprint in Dragon Age: Inquisition
One of the funniest came from John Epler, current Creative Director dire wolfand declares this despite a sprint option Dragon Age: Inquisition When you ride a mount, the game doesn’t actually increase your movement speed, it just adds some effects and moves the camera slightly to allow the player feels like they’re going faster. It’s an illusion and now that I’ve spent over a hundred hours in this game I feel incredibly stupid for even using the feature.
Why Iron Bull’s love scene is different than others
While some of these stories remind us that much of the video game experience is smoke and mirrors, some of them are really interesting as they illustrate that surprising problems require surprising solutions. For example, Epler shared that the love scene can be shared inquisition‘s resident pansexual hunk Iron Bull takes place in a different tower than the scenes with other romantic characters. Characters such as Dorian and Sera have the player meet up with their love interest in their quarters to dance the horizontal tango, located in the central tower of the group’s home base. In Iron Bull, however, part of the scene takes place in a separate tower, and it takes a comedic turn when multiple characters enter the room after the lovers have had their fun. Since the mocap for the scene involved your allies Josephine, Cassandra, and others walking through a door, the scene wouldn’t have worked in the player’s quarters since the entrance to this room has a staircase. So the developers created a special sex tower just for this scene.

Dragon Age: InquisitionThe ending of had more permutations
Whether prompted by trend or not, David Gaider, who previously served as a writer for the series before departing in 2016, released the original roadmap Dragon Age: Inquisitionis over. The ending, which began with the game, featured a brief sting from Solas, the party member-turned-surprise villain, meeting up with the series’ enigmatic mainstay Flemeth and seemingly claiming her life and power. As it turns out, there was a draft ending that would have ended with the player or her daughter Morrigan killing her instead. This would have tied to a decision early in the game where the player chooses to drink from the Well of Sorrows, essentially giving Flemeth control over whoever participated. The controlled character would have fought Solas for her, but it appears that Solas would have gone anyway and either the player or Morrigan would have killed Flemeth. There aren’t many details, but it seems inquisitionThe finale of had a lot more conflict at one point.
gaider says in thread that he was okay with how the final scene ended, comparing it to a Marvel-style stinger that would portend something to come, and says The team did not create a playable build the original outline. Funnily enough, the player character is also present in the resulting scene, out of shot and in the bushes. However, this has no narrative reason. gaider speculated This is because the player had to be present in a game environment in order to play the cutscene.
As nice as it is to hear more behind-the-scenes stories of how Dragon Age: Inquisition was created, it would be even nicer to learn more about it Dragon Age: Dread Wolf. The sequel has been in the works for almost a decade at this point. Recently, fans had the opportunity to experience the universe in a new way with the Dragon Age: Absolution Anime on Netflix, which also included what appears to be Hints of a new season or a story hit dire wolf.
