Remember back in 2006 when we got one scarface playset after the end of the classic 80s gangster movie? It was an odd setup, but the end result was a bit clunky but kinda funny GTA-like open world game. Apparently it went well enough that development of a sequel began, but it never finished. However, new footage of it was canceled scarface Sequel has surfaced online giving us a good look at the sequel that never was.
The newly released footage of this never-released sequel known as scarface empire, comes courtesy of the YouTube channel Mafia Game Videos. The footage shows an early build of the game and showcases the new Las Vegas environment, improved graphics, improved combat and tons of curses.
Footage from Mafia Game Videos demonstrates combat and driving, as well as a new mechanic called “Resurrection” that would have allowed Tony to survive encounters with random armed goons. This may have worked like a Quick Time Event (QTE), where the player could recover if they succeeded or die if they failed. The video also shows a slew of alleged concept art for the never-released sequel.
over on twitter, Mafia Game Videos shared more clips and screenshots of early construction. The channel also shared information about the engine that supposedly powers the game, explaining that it uses modified technology first seen in the open world hulk Games developed by Radical Entertainment. This technology would also power the studio’s open world prototype games.

Rumors have been circulating for a long time about a scarface Sequel is in development, but this is the first footage of the game to surface since its untimely end.
The first scarface The game’s idea that Tony Montana had somehow survived the big gunfight at the end of the original film was always a bit silly and definitely missed the point of the film. But it also allows the developers at Radical Entertainment to create a new rags to riches story in which the hot-headed gangster rebuilds his empire. And sure, in many ways the game was just one GTA: Vice City clone, but to be fair, GTA Vice City is in many ways a scarface Clone. So it seems only fair. Also, the game turned into a pretty fun PS2-era open-world crime thriller. Sometimes big senseless shootings and virtual drug dealing hit the spot, you know?
While this is unlikely to ever happen, I’d love to see the first game get a remaster or modern re-release to make it easier to play in 2022. I’d rather play that than that revised vice cityat least.
