do you remember tuesday The day Game Freak released a video for Pokemon scarlet and violet teasing a new electric type monster. It revealed Iona, a Gym Leader for next month’s game, who looks like a Vtuber and so does clickbait. Today, We get to know the brand new Pokemon that will be their main character in the game.
It is bellbolt, which looks like a Politoad that has moved in next to a McDonald’s. did you guess right Did you guess a Pokemon that never existed before?! Iono literally trolls about the dirty practices in this new video.

Let me tell you about “EleFrog Pokémon” Bellibolt. It’s a squishy electrical type and stretches and contracts its body to generate electricity, which it does “in an organ that looks like a belly button.” That’s not the only part of his body that doesn’t look like what he looks – those “eyes” on the sides of his head are actually the bumps from which he discharges his electricity. Which is frightening. The tiny dots above his mouth are his true kawaii eyes.
One of his abilities is Electromorphosis, which is also brand new and allows Bellibolt to essentially absorb energy from enemy attacks, making his follow-up more powerful. Which is definitely neat.
We also learned a bit more about Iono herself, which is that she’s the Gym Leader for a region called Levincia and specializes in Electric-type Pokémon. It will be interesting to see if her frenetic streaming videos make an appearance in the game and if there is actually an attempt to localize her or keep her voice in the original Japanese.
A second, shorter video was also released today, showing Iono and Bellibolt in battle, as well as a Bellibolt in the wild fighting other wild monsters.
Just five more weeks of this madness before the game is finally in our hands and switches on November 18th.
