After almost ten years, Cuphead is coming to an end. Following the game’s original announcement in 2013, comes the June 30th, 2022 release of The Delicious Last Course DLC, a variety of additional content whose name has numerous meanings (if you haven’t noticed the acronym, it’s “The DLC”) . The theme of the “delicious” “dish” applies to both the narrative and story of this new adventure. Again, that “last” aspect hints at its purpose and the fact that this concludes the wildly acclaimed first album Studio MDHR (Allusion to the Moldenhauer surname of several team members).
But this is no half-hearted attempt to finish something fantastic. no Studio MDHR will leave with a bang with a new set of content that is more intense and challenging, full of charisma and will continue to be endlessly entertaining. I know all of this because I’ve been playing The Delicious Last Course for the past few days and I’ve really swooned over what they’ve created. But before I get into what makes The Delicious Last Course such a brilliant game, let me take a little look back at the history of China’s china protagonists. Cuphead and Mugman.
This DLC begins at the beginning of the base game after you complete the Mausoleum I level and get the message of the Legendary Chalice found inside. At this point you will be forced to take a boat ride nearby Inkwell Island

You may be wondering how we can play with Miss Goblet when she is locked in a spooky form. Well thank you a cookie Very handy, you can swap Ms. Chalice for Cuphead or Mugman during a boss encounter, which means you can use this new character whenever you want – she has an extra life, a special dodge, a double jump, and a unique one super ability, although in On Return you would lose a slot of amulet.
For those who fancy fighting Cuphead or Mugman, Delicious Last Course has added a variety of talismans that you can obtain by spending your gold coins in the shop. Cortex Emporium of the island to change the attacks of this main duo. While I find many of these attack methods cumbersome, the fact that you can always incorporate them into the base game makes them all the more useful and important.
In a nutshell: what makes The Delicious Last Course so awesome? This DLC shows it clearly a breakthrough in quality compared to what came in the original game. That doesn’t mean the base game experience was bad or a waste of time, just that this version is way better. Now for example Bosses have more phases and attacks the only ones you learn and overcome. You could argue that this complicates the game, and it does, which is why you will lose on many occasions. You can’t imagine how many. But completing this challenge comes with a reward for learning and defeating every boss that comes your way, something Cuphead nailed like no other game.

I say this because it is a title that continues to maintain an accelerated and totally frantic pace, which means that the combat has no pause and requires a very high level of attention and concentration, otherwise the projectiles and dangers that Bombard your screen, arise you’re not making any progress. But at the same time, the boss fights are fairly short and you can beat them in minutes, which means you never feel like you’re repetitive and suffering from defeat, as you can just press “replay” and go back in the battle without having to wait long. And we really appreciate this design, because in The Delicious Last Course, because the level of quality has increased, you will encounter more dangers, more things to look out for, more things to admire, all thanks to the many unique stages specific to each boss.
Mira A Grim granite the giant in the game clip above these lines. Right from the start, you’ll notice the large number of projectiles this boss fires, in addition to the fact that it’s only one of the first you’ll encounter in the entire DLC. And just when you think you have everything under control, he changes his attack style and the arena you fight in significantly, and again, just to rub salt in the wound, following the gastronomic parable. It’s not easy to beat, but once you do, you’ll end up with a smile from ear to ear, which has rarely happened to me in video games, and on The Delicious Last Course, it happens to me every time I do defeat a boss.
That doesn’t mean it’s all laughter and partying, because it’s not. That increase difficulty creates a toxic relationship, one that will make you want to bang your fist across the screen more times than you care to admit, and more times than in the base game. But if you manage to control your emotions, it’s clear what Studio MDHR has released It’s Cuphead’s best yetwhich makes it even sadder that it’s over.
But maybe it’s a good thing because it’s a way for the game to make it big. You couldn’t have asked for a better DLC or a lot more bonus content because this game ticks all the boxes. New unique enemies. reached. A vibrant and timeless artistic style. reached. A brilliant soundtrack. reached. Of course, it’s not for everyone, but Cuphead fans won’t stand a second to savor the mouth-watering taste that Studio MDHR leaves behind with The Delicious Last Course.
