Link loses a lot right at the start The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – almost all of his heart, all of his abilities, his clothes, an arm and apparently the ability to travel fast. During the induction on the Great Sky Island, you’ll gain some new abilities, but you won’t be able to fast travel yet.
How to unlock fast travel in Tears of the Kingdom
If you’re anything like us, you probably expected Link to be able to travel fast from the start Tears of the Kingdom (And then I got totally confused when you couldn’t).
As you circumnavigate the Great Sky Isle and complete the Shrines of Light for Rauru, you’ll acquire new abilities. After completing the three shrines on Great Sky Island – Ukouh Shrine, In-Isa Shrine and Gutanbac Shrine – head to the Temple of Time to push open some doors (try).
Rauru will appear and explain that Link cannot open the doors without visiting another shrine. And it’s at The Point out that Rauru unlocks fast travel for you, allowing you to teleport to any shrine you’ve visited and later to any Skyview Tower.
To be even more flexible about where to travel fast, be sure to check out the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab to unlock the Travel Medallion.
