There are now specialized Dr. Doom and Avengers Chests In Fortnite with special loot inside as part of the Absolute Doom season of Chapter 5, Season 4. One of the Kickstart quests gives you an incentive to find these in exchange for XP, but they also contain some pretty good loot.
These giant loot chests are similar to ones we’ve seen in past seasons, like the faction chests or IO supply chests in Chapter 2. As you’d expect from these harder-to-find large chests, they seem to contain more things than regular chests.
Below we explain where you can find Dr. Doom chests and Avengers chests in Fortnite Chapter 5, Season 4.
Where to find Dr. Doom and Avengers chests
The best way to find these chests quickly is to all sights. It doesn’t have to be one of the four new POIs (Doomstadt, Doom’s Courtyard, Castle Doom, or The Raft), as we were able to find Avengers chests at Reckless Railways, Sandy Steppes, and the Nitrodome.
If you drop off at a POI and don’t find a chest, just go to another one and hope you find gold. You can also find some chests in non-POI areas. For example, we found a Dr. Doom chest just south of Grim Gate that was guarded by some NPC enemies.
If you’re just looking for that new gear (wow, that Captain America shield is kind of broken!), we recommend checking out the older POIs rather than the new ones added this season. Since players are eager to try out the new POIs, the older ones tend to be less crowded, so there’s less competition for loot and potential elimination.
We’re not 100% sure if the following is true, but based on our matches, Dr. Doom chests appeared more frequently at the new POIs (Doomstadt, Doom’s Courtyard, Castle Doom, and The Raft) and Avengers chests appeared more frequently at the older POIs.
