jobs are essentially classes in Dragon’s Dogma 2. There are four professions available to you at the start, but you can unlock more as you progress through the game (for a fee). And you’re not tied to your choice: you can change careers as often as you like once it’s unlocked.
Most professions fit well into established archetypes of the fantasy world: archers shoot arrows and wear funny hats, magicians cast spells and wear funny robes, thieves stab people with daggers. But is there really a big difference between a fighter and a warrior? And what the hell is a Mystic Spearhand?
What follows is a list of all professions in Dragon’s Dogma 2, plus some details on how to unlock them and what weapons you’ll use for each. We also advise you on your career choice at the beginning Dragon’s Dogma 2.
All professions in Dragon’s Dogma 2
There are 10 professions Dragon’s Dogma 2. Four are available when you first create your character: fighter, Archer, ThiefAnd magician. You can unlock this a few hours after starting the game wizard And warrior Professions through a quest at the Vernworth Vocation Guild. You can assign your main character to any of these six professions and hire farmers from the Professions Guild for each of these professions (and switch between them).
There are four additional professions you can play as these are not available to farmers: Magic archer, Mystical spear hand, cheaterAnd warmongers.
Which profession to choose in Dragon’s Dogma 2?

As already mentioned, the four entry-level professions correspond exactly to the typical fantasy archetypes. The magician Arguably offers the highest DPS in the early hours of the morning and is a healer to boot. The Archer is effective when it comes to hitting multiple enemies in a fight and precisely hitting weak spots on larger enemies. But they don’t have a ton of health, nor can they carry the heaviest armor sets, so you’ll end up having to keep your distance in combat. The fighterHowever, it is by far the most stable entry-level job. However, since it’s mostly close-quarters combat, problems can still arise in the early hours of the morning (unless you’re traveling with a mage who can help you with healing magic).
While you can’t go wrong with these three, your best bet is this Thief. Thieves are as tactile as they are tactile, striking a balance between close combat and tricky skills. And while their defense is nothing compared to Fighters, they can withstand many more attacks than the two ranged starting classes. But the best part? The Thief specializes in crawling around large monsters, which is kind of the selling point for it Dragon’s Dogma 2. Just a few ranks into the Calling, you’ll unlock bombs to place on bosses or the ability to set your blades on fire mid-climb.

The Fighter is a classic sword-and-board character and offers a good mix of attack and defense. This is a great introductory course as it gives you the opportunity to be aggressive and try out how close combat works Dragon’s Dogma 2

Archer

The Archer is your prototypical ranged class. It allows you to get a larger view of the battlefield and move away from the monster you are dealing with. This extra distance allows you to be extremely effective at finding the weak spots of larger monsters, dealing massive damage to them, and sometimes even knocking them to the ground. It’s also the best class for dealing with Harpies and other flying creatures, which is a huge boon early in the game.

magician

Weapons: Staves
Mages are spellcasters who can do a lot of damage – provided you have the patience. Casting spells is a bit strange Dragon’s Dogma 2; The energy is charged while standing still or when moving extremely slowly. But even at low levels, as soon as your spells are ready, you can unleash lightning storms or flamethrowers on monsters. Mages also specialize in support magic, which can help you heal peasants or imbue their weapons with fire.

As a thief, you can run across the battlefield with two daggers and use abilities that make it harder for your enemies to spot you. You may not have a lot of health compared to other professions that focus on melee combat, but you can deal extreme damage if you manage to lock down and down a target. But the best part about playing as a thief is how good you are at climbing monsters and taking them down with various bombs, ropes, and devastating stabs.

warrior

Weapons: Greatswords, hammers
Warriors are fighters who trade shields for twice as many swords. You swing your weapon slowly, but are capable of dealing out some of the highest damage values in the game. Skill-wise, Warriors and Fighters have very similar offerings, but where Fighters are balanced, Warriors require a playstyle that emphasizes risk and reward. When you first start doing this Dragon’s Dogma 2, warrior could be a fight. But once you learn monster behavior and can plan accordingly, you can break through anything with ease.

How to open: Complete the “Professional Frustration” quest or find an Ore Staff
Weapons: Archistaves
Wizards and magicians have many things in common Dragon’s Dogma 2 (In fact, they share many spells), but while the Mage helps others with more selfless magic and healing, the Wizard is an offensive magical powerhouse. Using your Ore Staff, you can obliterate enemies with a burst of fire damage or even a turret of lightning. Just be aware that you’ll have to rely on your henchmen to protect you while you conjure these extremely powerful spells.
Mystical spear hand
How to open: Complete “Monster Clubs” and find Sigurd
Weapons: Duo spear
Mystic Spearhands uses a double-sided spear to combine magic and melee combat. With your Duo Spear, you can become a whirlwind of damage, slicing through monsters and enemies with both sides until they fall to the ground. However, while you can wear decent armor, you don’t have nearly as many defensive skills as a fighter or even a thief. Therefore, a relentless offensive is your best bet for success.

Weapons: incense burner
As a trickster, your job is to empower your pawns and confuse enemies with illusions. Your skills and attacks deal very little damage, but the spread of smoke across the battlefield creates an ideal environment for your party to remain in the shadows. Think of the trickster as Dragon’s Dogma 2is the truest support class.
