Pokemon scarlet and violet have a ton errors and performance issues that have slowly revealed themselves in the days since launch, but not all of them are bad. A newly discovered bug actually causes players to run at double speed if they force the game to recognize two controllers at the same time. It could be a game changer for speedrunners if they don’t mind being forced to move diagonally.
The exploit was found by over the weekend Reddit user Hamsterhead64
There’s a catch though, and the bug seems to only double your movement speed when running diagonally. To compensate for th is limitation, Reddit user Hamsterhead64 continually pans the camera around for easier navigation. The strange bug is already making some gamers dream of plugging in four Joy-Con and playing the second pair with their feet.
While this isn’t necessarily the most practical way to play the game for normalies, it could become a key strategy for speedrunners. They’ve been known to traverse games in all sorts of weird ways, from swim through the air in Axe: Shadows die twice to beat the whole game while jumping backwards in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

But given the current faulty condition scarlet and violet, it seems fair to say that gamers haven’t even begun to scratch the surface of how to break the latest games in the series. You’ve already done it climb mountains by jumping backwards while riding the legendary Pokémon mount Koraidon. It’s exactly the kind of Jank you can find in sprawling RPGs Skyrimwhich is fitting as it’s about that old Pokemon scarlet and violet see.
