While Black Myth: Wukong may not adhere to the standard Soulslike formula in every way, but there are plenty of features in this action-adventure title that borrow from the popular genre. Enemies respawn after resting at a checkpoint, the challenging battles require you to keep an eye on a stamina meter, and dangerous explorations can end in certain death if you’re not careful. So it’s reasonable to wonder if Black Myth: Wukong offers another common Soulslike staple: New Game Plus (NG+).
This mode is known for allowing players to replay a game with all the gear and upgrades they earned from a previous playthrough, allowing them to face tougher enemies and bosses—and in some cases, entirely new threats that weren’t present the first time around.
Black Myth: Wukong offers players this always appreciated feature. But is there any benefit to playing through this adventure a second (or third) time? Here’s what you need to know about Black Myth: Wukong ‘s NG+ mode.
Does Black Myth: Wukong have an NG+ mode?
So, yes, Black Myth: Wukong has an NG+ mode. After completing the game for the first time, you can replay the entire campaign at any time, keeping the skills and equipment you have already acquired.
Having access to NG+ gives you the opportunity to find everything you missed on your first playthrough and re-fight all the epic bosses to show them you’re not putting up with their crap anymore. And if you’re a completionist, you might want to play through the game multiple times anyway.
Please note, however, You don’t need to enter NG+ to see all endingsbecause after completing the game you will come back to life right before the final boss and can choose additional endings.
What’s different in Black Myth: Wukong’s NG+ mode?
If you’re wondering if anything changes in NG+, the answer is sort of. While enemies and bosses don’t change much (except they’re stronger), shrines do have a few new options available to you.
You can now upgrade any armor you’ve crafted, and new weapon upgrades will be available in the branches you previously unlocked. Additionally, you’ll gain access to the Freed Mind Relic, the game’s final relic.
Of course, it’s up to you whether you want to embark on this second journey again. Just remember that doing so will overwrite your current save file, so once you’ve decided to go with NG+, you can’t go back. Choose wisely!
