Last week, Baldur’s Gate 3 Gamers on Xbox found their accounts locked when their clips of the RPG’s spicy scenes were automatically uploaded publicly according to the Xbox Series X/S default settings. It appears that developer Larian Studios has spoken to Microsoft to get these bans lifted, but advises players to be more careful in the future.
Running published on its social media channels that players affected by reported clips “should see their bans lifted now.” Work is still underway to fix all bans, but Microsoft is aware of the issue and is trying to fix it. In the meantime, Larian recommends players use the “Mature Content” option in the game settings to avoid nudity in any clips they choose to upload. This is usually used by streamers to make the game stream friendly. However, since Xbox prohibits people from automatically uploading explicit scenes, it might be worth keeping this in mind if you plan on making clips of them Baldur’s Gate 3.
Removing the bans is a good thing, but I hope this is a lesson for Microsoft to stop making automatic uploads the default. Xbox has pretty clear guidelines It’s about what types of clips can lead to a ban, but if the default is to post captured footage where people can see it, Microsoft is unwittingly setting players up for failure. Baldur’s Gate 3 is prepared to screw people over on this front – and not only Sex scenes Pretty explicit, but it’s possible to have characters naked at any time by removing clothing in the equipment menu. Even though Larian got Microsoft to fix the problem this time, it’s still a system-rooted problem.
