Faced with a winter month when game releases are hilariously easy (that’s a joke), Ubisoft is making its massive open-world adventure Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Free to play this weekend starting Thursday 24th February.
PC and console players can download the full game and all core game content (excluding DLC) until Monday 28th February for a long weekend of raiding the English countryside aboard Viking longboats and plundering the countryside to your heart’s content. Which is lucky, because as I said, there are so few games.
For the uninitiated, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla puts players in the role of Eivor, a Viking warrior on a voyage of revenge across the British Isles. Comfortable, Valhalla’s free weekend comes before its paid extension, The twilight of Ragnarok, which draws heavily on Norse mythology and supernatural forces, sending Eivor on a quest to save her son. Calling it the “most ambitious expansion in franchise history,” Ubisoft will be available on March 10, 2022.
Good thing there aren’t many other games at the moment!
