As a kid, I often encountered the rocks, trees, and one-sided barriers of Pokemon’s worlds. Because of this, I enjoy any type of RPG overworld that allows me to traverse it with ease. Radical Fish Games showed the gameplay of their role-playing game entitled Project Terra, in which we see the protagonist jumping and sprinting through his vast overworld – and it looks like a joy.
We have awesome role-playing games and more in Cool WIP, Polygons weekly summary of eye-catching clips and screenshots of ongoing work. Each week, Polygon staff scour the internet for the most interesting games that are still under construction to bring you a selection of the coolest upcoming projects.
We have an intimate moment between a character and their dog; another villain with eyes everywhere; a random sausage standing in the woods; and a side scroller designed entirely with letters and symbols.
Walking through the overworld of this role-playing game looks like a piece of cake
Project Terra is an ambitious RPG from Radical Fish Games. The world of the game is not only beautiful and spacious, but also highly traversable. A clip released by a developer shows the protagonist jumping and sprinting fairly quickly through his impressive overworld. (Gone are the days of running around barriers in old role-playing games.) Project Terra does not have an official release date, but the team does release a lot of updates under the Hashtag of the game.
It’s just a lovely game with lots of eyeballs
Why is Eyeballs and boss fights? Whether on hands or random body parts, this boss design cliché is a surefire way to tell your player, “This is where your sword is attacking.” This clip doesn’t actually show any fighting, but we at least see the spherical, eyeball-shaped creature and the pretty landscape of the overworld. Developer Ninmang Studio hasn’t announced a release date, but you can stay tuned for updates Twitter account
Why is there a humanized sausage there?
When seeing Hottie & the sausage machine, I was full of questions like: “Why is there a sausage in such a beautiful landscape? What is a little horse-drawn carriage doing in the forest? ”This Clip of the WIP posted by Hyperblast Games raises more questions than it answers, but that is exactly what attracted me. It’s a really beautiful and colorful setting, and it just seems to embody a playfulness that is seldom found in games that focus too much on fitting between the lines. There’s no release date, but you can get updates on the Developer’s Twitter account
Man’s best friend gets an emotional scene
Farrukh Abdur is a developer who regularly renders stunning scenes in Unity. Abdur recently posted clips of a new game that follows a person exploring a garden full of animals. That particular scene shows a person with your dog at dusk and sets romantic accents with its lighting. If you want to see more of it, Abdur’s Twitter account is a curated feed of beautiful 3D creations, so be sure to check it out.
Copypasta becomes the boss in this side scroller
Stone story is an RPG made entirely of characters and symbols made up of text. The game’s characters are reminiscent of Copypasta and bring the characters on your keyboard to life in a fun and inventive way. Polygon has covered the game before, but it continues to get new updates that add cool bosses. Like this one that looks like a giant troll.
