If you’ve ever wanted to visit Hyrule in amusement park form, rest assured: there are rumors and speculation circulating that you might soon get the chance. Eiji Aonuma, the producer of The Legend of Zelda series, was spotted in a video from Universal Studios on location at one of the parks. It could mean nothing, but it could also mean something big for the theme park family.
The video was originally posted on a Instagram account for Universal Studios employee spotlight and has since been removed, but not before fans caught a shot of Aonuma talking to construction workers and Super Mario Creator Shigeru Miyamoto in one of the parks. For those not interested in theme parks, a Super Nintendo World attraction opened at Universal Studios’ Osaka and Hollywood parks in 2021 and 2023. Although the name encompasses all of Nintendo, the current attraction is primarily themed Mario and the Mushroom Kingdom with plans to do so add Donkey Kong to the mix this spring. But when Aonuma visits construction workers and talks to them, a Zelda Attraction could also be in the works. Miyamoto was instrumental in the creation of the Mario Park, so it would make sense for Aonuma to consult on a possible solution Zelda Additive.
That’s the theory anyway. Nintendo has yet to officially announce anything for the Hyrule-themed Super Nintendo World. As Nintendo life points out that Aonuma may only be there as part of his role as a senior official in Nintendo’s entertainment planning and development, and that doesn’t necessarily mean anything. But we can dream of an extremely dangerous roller coaster ride Twilight Princess‘s weirdo, can’t we?
