I died So Since then many times in a stupid way The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom came out – many of which were incidents that occurred while attempting to catch and tame a horse. Dying in bokoblin camps or in boss fights? No. But a swift kick from a horse’s foot in the face? That was more my speed.
I have no real reason to need to collect that many horses, apart from a silly initiative I made up, which is: All my horses need a junior counterpart. For example, my horse Larry has a son named Larry Junior, Fred has his son Fred Jr., and so on. (The horse used in the post’s header is called Junior, and I’m still working on Junior, Jr.) That’s to say I’ve had trouble catching horses for a while, and kept being turned away or sent in became room for a hoof – until I discovered the horse trap.
player much, I’m much smarter than me and I build traps to catch and tame wild horses. The key element is Ultrahand, the ability that allows Link to glue random things together. For the simplest horse trap, just a few logs or lumber are arranged in a square and attached to a long pole. It can be used like a fishing net, but for horses. More complex devices could also have wheels or spring mechanisms. The core objective remains the same: put the horse in the box and then jump on it. You can still get kicked, but the success rate is much higher if the horse can’t run away.
Unless your horse trap has wheels, you’ll need to use Ultrahand to increase the range of the trap so the horse isn’t startled by its presence. They’ll get scared once the crate is around them, but you can jump in, jump up, and start calming your new steed.
The thing is, it still takes enough stamina to tame a horse, even with a nifty trap. The trap itself is still handy for catching, even if the taming is entirely yours.
Besides horses, you can also tame other animals like bears Tears of the Kingdom. The Horse Trap might come in handy there if you want to try it – but you’ll need to have plenty of stamina or face certain death. Other players used the trap method to easily defeat large groups of bokoblins and their big bosses.
These inventions are so stupid that they are simple work. And that’s beautiful.
