When you buy Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom from an eShop region where the game is already available – such as B. Japan – you can play it early. However, it requires purchase with an eShop account from that region in local currency and your progress will be tied to that account as well. So unless you plan to play the entire game th is way, you’d better wait.
The exception to all of the above is of course if you buy physically where the game can be played once you have your copy. If you haven’t already pre-ordered, it’s worth doing before Friday to ensure delivery arrives on time.
