After an extensive and lucrative tour in theaters, Evangelion: 3.0 + 1.0 Thrice Upon a Time takes the usual step of The Rebuild of Evangelion franchise.
This is a revamped and improved edition of the story, with a change in the code number, which includes new scenes to provide more context to the events of the story. However, the end of the story is the same.
In the trailer we can see many scenes of the film, to the point of representing spoilers of the content of the same and that must be seen with some caution if you do not want delicate moments of the film to be revealed.
The work of Studio Khara marks the end of the Evangelion story, at least in its reconstructed version. Developed by Hideaki Anno as a great project to emancipate the legendary franchise from its past with Gainax, The Rebuild of Evangelion project is the banner that sustains Studio Khara.
This version, Evangelion: 3.0 + 1.01, is on the market in its final week on the billboard, titled The Last Run. Looking to have a substantial shutdown at the same time that it will start its broadcasts on streaming services in Japan.
Following its premiere in early March at the Japanese box office, Evangelion: 3.0 + 1.0 Thrice Upon a Time has rounded up more than $ 81 million in box office sales. All this without leaving Japanese territory and without concrete plans to make the leap to the West, where they will surely have a significant boost in their total earnings.
This film is the most successful in the history of the Studio Khara franchise, providing a worthy closure to one of the most iconic and representative anime series of all time. For now, we can only wait to see the version of Evangelion that reaches the West in the future and to discover the end of this series.
