The production of Kurayukaba continues to advance, with the announcement of the seiyuu that will play the main character of the story.
In a post in his official portal, replicated by Former Web from the media company Mainichi Shimbun, it was revealed that Matsunojo Kanda will be the one who will give his voice to Sotaro, the protagonist of this original film.
Kanda is an actor recognized for participating in works such as Mirai, but he is also famous in Japan for being a storyteller in various media, so his voice will surely be taken into account by fans who see this production.
This is what we know about Kurayukaba
We have been following this project for a long time, since the crowdfunding campaign was launched in April and aims to raise 20 million yen (approximately US $ 188,000) before the end of August 27. Fortunately, the fundraiser has been more than successful, currently the team has 2,072,500 yen (about US $ 19,240) at press time.
Until now, it was only known that Kurayukaba’s story revolved around the life of a somewhat particular girl. This little girl is a “garden spinner” and works in a mapping and information service in the labyrinthine and ever-changing capital.
But, this is what the project director revealed to us last Friday:
Our story unfolds beneath the surface of the great metropolis, below the Ogi city district, in a realm of dreams floating in a haze of purple lignite smoke. A network of roads stretches underground, hiding bandits at every turn! An armored train winds its way through the coming darkness – the Sokore 463 steel clad train is equipped with a 75mm mountain cannon that can blow a target to pieces! In command is the mysterious girl Tanne.
What awaits her and her comrades? From the winding alleys of Akegata (dawn) to the deep underground world of Kuragari (dark), a daring adventure unfolds.
Unfortunately, we still know what the release date of this feature would be. But, here we leave your official trailer so you can see why we are so excited about this project.
